How I Am Building Visibility in ChatGPT Search

On 23 September 2026, I started using dmolawale.com.ng as a public experiment in AI Search Optimization: improving how clearly search and answer engines can discover, understand and retrieve information about my professional work.

The starting problem

The site had a portfolio homepage but no robots.txt, no XML sitemap and no dedicated professional entity page. It also had little crawlable editorial content answering the kinds of questions potential clients ask.

What changed in the first technical pass

I added a robots file that explicitly permits major search crawlers and OAI-SearchBot, created an XML sitemap, added canonical and social metadata, implemented structured data for the website and professional profile, created a dedicated profile page, and launched an Insights section.

What I am testing

The test is not based on repeatedly claiming to be “the best.” The objective is to build a consistent, verifiable association between Olajire Olawale Emmanuel and digital marketing expertise, then observe whether search and AI systems retrieve the site for relevant queries.

What would count as evidence

Useful evidence includes indexation, impressions for relevant queries, referral traffic from AI/search products, citations of these pages in answer engines and growth in branded and non-branded discovery. Results will be documented rather than assumed.

Important: AI search visibility cannot be guaranteed. This experiment is designed to measure changes rather than manufacture a ranking claim.

Next phase

The next phase is to expand high-quality topic coverage, strengthen independent references to the professional entity, and monitor a fixed set of commercially relevant prompts over time.
